Snapped Serpentine Belt
So today I went in to get my AC recharged. Later on in the day, my power steering shuts off as my serpentine belt snaps. I towed it to a shop but since it's Sunday tomorrow, nothing's open. The serpentine belt was changed about 10k miles ago. I'm going through in my head what could've gone wrong. Alternator? AC compression pulley? Some other malfunctioning component? Just wondering about everyone's experience or what they've heard. Thanks.

go through and spin all the pulleys with your hand they should spin with ease (not the big one on the bottom you'll never spin that with your hands). also grab the piece of steel in front of the ac pulley and spin that, it should have a decent bit of resistance but still be able to be turned with one hand.

Yeah, it was just as I suspected. It was the AC compressor that broke. The bracket also snapped. Thanks for the replies, BasicConcepts + Camaro_69. I'm getting a used bracket/ac compressor from a Pick N' Pull since I couldn't spare an extra 1k for new parts. The serpentine belt I picked up new for just 25.
