Should I mod my 3.4 or swap in an lt1

It could break, and send the rocker flying under the valve cover, possibly damaging other rockers/springs. When it comes to ensuring the parts on your car that move (engine or otherwise), continue to move, there is no reason to be cheap.

Good point. The only thing is id probably have to wait 3 weeks for the rods to come from summit. Do you know of anywhere that i could get them instead of waiting on snail mail?

The driveshaft requires no modification, regardless of what anyone says. Take off the old, and put the new one on. As for the rear, most just get the whole rear off a V8 car, as it has a limited slip, and disc brakes. As for the heads, here is an article (I realize from another site) that talks about the different manifolds and heads that can be used on the 3.4. http://forum.camarov6.com/showthread.php?t=64963
