Default Shifting Problem

I just got a '00 camaro with a 3.8.(Automatic) When i was merging onto the interstate i noticed that when i gave it gas and started to accelerate when it shifts from 3rd to 4th, it gets to about 6000 rpms it loses a little bit of power, and i let off the gas then it kicks into the next gear. Is there a problem that would make it do this?

Sounds normal to me. It goes into the next gear when you left off the gas so you aren't winding on 3rd gear as you decelerate.

On my 02 V6 it will get up to 6k RPM's if I am on the gas and not letting up.

you could save up and switch to synthetic trans fluid. sounds like its supposed to shift at 6k so you should not have to let up on the thottle for it to shift at that rpm. whens the last time its had new plugs. the hesitation could be worn plugs. have the car scanned for trouble codes, could get an idea if there is a issue in the tranny. or the car as far as that goes.
