hey guys my buddy just bought a 94 3.4l 5spd and it runs constantly at about 200-210, is this normal ? i know mine (the exact same model) runs at about 180-185 consistently, but i have a CAI and new water pump along with recent rad flush, anyway do you think something is up with his it seems to run fine though the temp stays a little high ???????

 

it could possibly be a head gasket cause when mine blew it ran about that temp for a while and it seemed to run fine and then after a while of doin that it started to run bad

 

thermostat...water pump...coolant...

You would kno if it's a head gasket by loss of coolant, white-sweet scented exhaust smoke...

 

i thought that was the operating temp.

 

Normal operating temperature with a stock themostat.

 

Take the cap off and let run, maybe you just have air in the system, put a bucket under it so that you can catch the overflow and pour it back in. Same thing happened to me and I also thought it was a gasket.

 

stock thermostat runs at 195

 

stock therm lets coolant in @ 195...that's not the normal operating temp tho

 

ya guys i checked the coolant, its fine, but the car is still running at about 195-210 somewhere in there, runs fine tho any suggestions ? the temp is consistent tho

 

I blew a head gasket once and it caused my car to run at 270!
Normally 160... it wasnt pretty
