So my deadhorse (94 v6 auto) started randomly dying out today. Did it 4 times in about 20 minutes. The only thing that seems to be the same when it dies is deceleration after light throttle(making a left into a steep driveway or pulling up to a drivethru window). When she dies out, i can shut the key off and restart her with no hesitation but when i do, i have no 1st gear unless i manually put it in 1st. Checked for codes and i had 34(map low vacuum) and 51(prom error). Ive had the 51 for a while now with virtually no problem aside from poor fuel economy. Is it possible my computer is finally fried completely? What else could possibly cause this issue? Any insight is GREATLY appreciated!

 

Ive determined that my problem is a very ducked up map sensor connector. Looks like its been run over a couple times... still hoping for some insight on the no 1st gear thing though. Limp mode maybe?

 

PCM is more than likely okay.
If not reset, PCM will reset itself after 50 starts if problem is gone.
