Default Random squeal

I just noticed today that when I press down the accelerator there is sometimes a high pitch squeal that sounds like it is coming from the engine bay. I've been told water pumps whine when they start to go. Could that be the issue?

check your belt. mine did that and it was the belt. got a gator belt and seems good so far. i changed the tensioner first because the belt was not that old and nothing changed sooo went with gator. the 3.8 does have issues with the tensioner setup so better get new plastic elbows if your changing the tensioner.

maybe look for vacuum leaks, lose or cracked hoses. also check air intake system for any ways it could be leaking. or could it even be a air noise? are you leaking power steering fluid?

No other than a little trouble with the heater hoses when I did the tensioner I had no leaks. Could it be the tranny?
