Default Radiator Q.

Alright, tried doing a search before posting this, but couldn't find anything.

My Camaro's radiator at the moment has a bad leak and is clogged pretty good from some block seal crap the previous owners put in it. I was going to attemp fixing it/flushing it, but a friend of mine offered his old Z28 radiator that's pretty much new for $40. Same generation, just wondering whats different and will it work in my RS. I know the hoses will have to change.

Just wondering what you guys think will be the better option and if anyone knows off hand.

EDIT: Also, he offered his old suspension. I was thinking about putting it on because I am going to do an LT1 swap in the near future, but I was wondering if putting on the Z28 suspension would cause the car to be abnormally high or cause issues with the little sixer.

the Z28 rad will work just fine there may be a line you need to plug im not to familiar with the rs but it will fit as for the suspension the front will probably ride a little high because of your lighter engine

Thanks BC, hopefully this will go together without too much of a hitch.

Ya might want to try a few Prestone Super Flush treatments with the radiator flush kit before you abandon your current radiator. Think about it, if you have junk in the radiator, it's in the rest of your system too, so either way you need to do a few super flushes.

If the radiator leaks after the flushes, well then consider a replacement...

What suspension specifically is being offered? If it's OEM shocks, forget it, get some SLP Bilsteins or Koni SAs, de Carbon/Delphi shocks are very poor and the weakest part of 4th Gen suspension.

Was thinking the same thing. I can try and fix this current radiator, and I will. If I can salvage it, I'll just keep the z28 one as a spare if need be.
