Default Rack and pinion

Hey guys i have a 2002 V6 camaro that im having problems with. When you turn the wheel to the left a kind of vibration comes throught the wheel it also does it a little when turned to the right. I took it to a shop and they said that the Rack and Pinion was causing the problems they checked the cv joints and tie rods etc and that is what they came up with. Has anyone had anything similar happen to there car?

As long as the CV joints where ok then it must be the rack,,,,,,

FYI only Front Wheel Drive have CV joint

I have not seen a rack cause that problem but that does not mean it can't. The PS pump would be more common an issue but if I could lay my hands on the pump and the rack it would be pretty easy to tell. I have feeling you would feel the vibration much more in the pump. Most common cause of this on a stock suspension is just plain loose bolts/ broken brakets on the power steering pump.

I would also want to make sure the rest of the steering was moving free, Ball Joints, Tie-rod ends and make sure the wheel bearings where nice a tight.

Ya i had a shop check out the car and he said that when he had someone turn the wheel the R&P would make some sort of odd movement and the driver would feel the vibration/ hear the noise in the car but nothing audible outside the car. Could the power stearing pump cause this?
