Question 94 3.4L Coolant Leak. Possible Intake Manifold?

Hi all,

My son's car is having some coolant leaking issues that I am worried about. It appears to be leaking down the passenger front side of the block. Drivers front side looks dry. Water pump was replaced a few months ago and all the fittings and hoses are tight and dry. Please see the attached picture to see what I am talking about. Oil does not have any coolant in it and this issue appears to only happen while the car is setting and not running. Thoughts?

Intake leaks are the most common failure on the 3.4. Sure looks like thats what you got.

Can one confirm this by using a pressure tester on the radiator? I assume a failed intake gasket while being a pain in the butt to fix is not a death sentence for this motor correct? Anything else I should have done while the intake gaskets are getting replaced?

Good news bad news. Went and rented a pressure tester and the good news is while the intake gasket may be leaking it is not the main source for the spots on the driveway. Bad news is when I pressured up the system to 18lbs I could hear the coolant running from somewhere however I cannot find the source. I am going to jack up the car and get down to business in a bit. Thanks.

It appears me that the leaking is coming from a freeze plug behind the belt tensioner. Does that sound correct? I can see it dripping back there and just above that is the water pump however it is dry.
