race time!
I got my sliver 2002 V6 Camaro a couple of days ago, its completely stock, And my bro has a 1998 black V6 firebird with a ram air hood and duel magnaflow exhausts. Who would win? or it will probably come to the driver, but i just wanna beat him so bad (he's my older bro).
I think your brother would, just because he has more mods done. The cars will be running very closely though. I'd race just for fun and if you lose, there is more insentive to mod your car out just to kick his ***.
He would beat you, not by much, though. Magnaflow exhaust on these fourth generation F-bodies adds 10-12 hp depending on the setup. I'm not sure how much that RAM air adds but it is an advantage, no matter how small.
The thing you got going for you is that your car is newer and your internals are much fresher than his. Give it a go, it'll be close. Like stated above, if you lose, all the more reason to drop some cash and kick his ***.

I believe that it will be really close. He will have you by a little but it all comes down to the driver.
Are both 5 speed's or is any of them auto ??
If yours is auto and his is a 5 speed you will have the advantage ........ if it is the opposite ........ then he will
Auto's are quicker off the line

No, not because the wheel spin, just because a computer can shift faster than a human can. Certain cars are faster as an automatic than a stick, even the SS versions are known to be faster as an automatic. However, manuals can take way more of a beating than an auto.
Sorry I am just trying to understand. So in certain cars you mean ones that have enough power in the lower rpm range , that an auto does not affect it a great deal because its already got more than enough power to get it going?
