Just recently purchased a 2001 v6 camaro.. car was running perfect until last week... car turns on just fine.. however once i accelerate the gas pedal the car feels like it doesn't have alot of power and doest wanna move the way it use too..an the rmps just jump from 2000 to 4000.. never had this problem b4.. i changed the spark plugs an wires an still does the same thing.. an sometimes wen im driving around it starts to smell like gas... if anyone on here can help i'd really appriciate it!!!

 

What trans do you have? If you have a manual then I would say it is time for a new clutch, if an Auto then I would say check your fluid. Other than that when was the last time you replaced things like the air filter, Fuel filter, and used a good quality fuel treatment/injector cleaner like the Lucas Fuel System Cleaner? Try that stuff out if you have not done so.

Sounds like the tranny to me. Check the fluid. I hope it's nothing more serious than needing a flush.

 

Is there a SES light on(service engine soon) if so get it scaned... do u smell the fuel from under the hood or the exhaust? How does it idle? Possibly a leaking injector or bad o ring.

 

kinda hard to understand whats goin on. is it like your running out of gas or like you cant get traction and the motor rev's up but car wont go?

 

Have a check engine light? If so, scan it and post the code(s) here.
