Thanks, I can be **** that way! If I'm going to make something, it might as well be well made. It's too bad it had to get covered back up with the carpet though.
And Xx, you might want to get yours corked up asap. After I cut mine, I drove the car around just a little before I made the cover. There was A LOT of exhaust heat that was radiating up and through the opening. The floor area was a lot hotter than when it was all sealed up. I believe it was because the hot air had somewhere to flow since there was an opening, and more heat than what's normal was traveling up. Plus if yours isn't sealed well, you'll most likely get exhaust fumes creeping into the car. If you put it off until you "get around to it" you'll never get around to it.

The only thing I would've done different is used flat top screws, compare me to the princess and the pea story, the invisible bumps in the carpet would irritate me

okay Camaro69, thanks for the advice. and your probably right "ill get around to it" normally never happens. that's why my carpet still looks nasty! because i said "ill get around to cleaning it..then its permanently stained. "ill change it soon" nope still there. so ill get on the sheet metal cover asap. any estimate on price for materials? general range?

Probably under 10 bucks for everything. If you have to buy a tube of silicone, then closer to 15.

What if the rice is fried rice? Then you'd have to be on it like brown on rice!

Eh, time for bed it seems, I'm making stupid jokes again, rofl

Nice work.

I think GM should have built these car this way! The germans are all about it except their pumps don't fail. That trap door job is super clean though- nice work.
