Default power locks

My 2000 firebirds power locks work, but the switch on the door doesnt... how does that happen? The keyless entry will make them work fine so is it just the switch that i need or could it be something else? that and is the hvac panel electric? like when i flip from air conditioning to heat is that electrically actuated or is it just a **** on the end of a wire or w/e? just curious because some of the most random $hit is broken inside this car (its a repo)

Default RE: power locks

not sure about the power locks. I know that in my 01 camaro if you power lock the doors with the remote and then try and use the manual power lock button on the inside of the car it won't work as a security measure ( in case you have your windows down, no one can just stick there hand in and press the unlock button).
The HVAC panel is electrical. Had to deal with that a few times in my 96 camaro. Air kept blowing out of the floor instead of dash panel. Thought it was something manual broken, but it was an all electrical setup.
