Default Posi Trac Question

Did 98+ V6's have a posi trac rear end? Would it be worth putting a 3:42 posi trac rear end w/disk brakes on my 97 v6? The rear end came out of a 98, and the guy wants $400.

Limited Slip Differentials were in Y87 packages, 98- used the Auburn LSD, 99+ used the Zexel-Torsen LSD (its not posi-tract but in essence very similar)

I have an Auburn LSD w/ 3.42's and I am real happy with my gear ratio, better acceleration than the stock 3.08's (if auto) but it's still really good on the highway as well, really the perfect in between for performance and comfort

Difficulty to install? Not sure, haven't done it myself. I have replaced a wheel bearing seal, and had to take some stuff apart in there to get to do the seal. I'm sure I could do it, just do it very carefully.

Y87 1/4 is better than a base...I'd say a couple to a few tenths depending on the car
