RE: People against V6.
idk what companies you guys have but like i mentioned earlier my rate will stay the same for any sports coupe with a V8 or V6. Now if i go get an Accord im sure it will go down. But for a Z28/3800 or a V6 Mustang/Mustang GT its still the same.

i really think ur mistaken spartan. what it sounds like is you werent asked if u had a Z or not when they registered ur vehicle, but they get that info from the vin, and ive never heard of any companies not charging more for v8

Alright, I'm gonna get back into this. I'm done crying about my jeep, dad says I can build a drag car during the summer, he doesn't want me to mod my driver engine wise. So I'm gonna find a 79 Cherokee Chief, and put a big block caddy engine in it. Not ultra fast, but it will be fun to drive.
Spartan, you have freak insurance. This is all too obvious. It must be the state you live in or something. For me, insurance is about $60 more per month if I go V8. Also, out here, premium is ALOT more than regular. So driving with a styrafoam foot is saving me gas and a considerable amount of money. I could do a V8 swap, and trick the insurance company, but this is a commuter. I am no longer going to build an engine, because I'm going to build a drag car. However, if I wanted to race this, I could do it all out of the wrecking yard. My uncle will sell me an engine for about $70 for this thing. I could pull some turbos or a supercharger off a wrecked car, and install them. Then run a few races, blow the motor up, put one in for $70, install everything back on, go again. I could make this thing run hard for about $300 for a few races, and then spend $70, and I'm back in for another few. This is my circumstances. I can also run just headers for ease of engine swaps, no exhaust. There is more parts I will need that I am not listing, but you get the idea. The V8's are like crotch rocket bikes. Do you NEED it? No.

the insurance for me, on my 6er was 930ish a month i think, was in 900s. for a Z with just liability like the 6er, it was xactly the same. now, whn it came to full coverage, the Z was almost twice as much as the 6er with full coverage
