Default p0441 any help appreciated

gotta code p0441 today, from what I read here I need to check my fuel lines for any obvious damage 1st, i'm going to refer to my Haynes manual also. BUT ANYBODY HAVE ANY TIPS BEFORE I GET UNDER THE HOOD??? I'm thinking about replacing my fuel filter just because its cheap. I've had a big drop in gas mileage.

Mine was something in the vapor canister behind the driver side rear tire, changed out just about the whole Evap system and still did not clear the code. Unplugged the hose from canister to engine and the code went away. I think I have a cracked purge line from the fuel tank to the canister. But I would have to drop the fuel tank and I did not want to do that yet.

Check the gas cap too, and the filler neck. Lots of time rust gets at the lip where the cap makes its seal. Use sandpaper to remove the rust so the cap can seal properly.

FYI, drop in gas mileage can also mean a plugged cat. Of course changing the fuel filter is a good idea.
