my oil pressure seems to drop during idle. for example, when i am at a stop light my oil pressure drops, but then when i shift and start driving, my oil pressure goes normal again. it will also happen if i go into neutral and coast. i have had an oil change since this problem and it still seems to happen.. thanks in advance.

 

Oil pump speed varies with engine speed. This means oil pressure will vary with engine speed.

 

oh i see. well it used to not happen before i got the 1st oil change. so i just wasnt sure if there was a problem or not.. thanks for your help. also though, I have been getting reg oil changes with real oil and then by mistake, i went to a quaker state.. dumb me not knowing they would put synthetic in it.. would that have anything to do with it?

 

I doubt it. It has done that with both Camaros I have had.

 

Its normal, all vehicles do it. As previously stated oil pump speed varies with engine speed. Don't worry about it.
