Yes it is!

Not all Fram filters are garbage just the ones in the orange boxes. The Tough Guard (grey) are ranked #2 filter behind the Mobil 1.

I went and got my usual AC Delco filter and replaced the Fram Tough Guard and the pressure went back to normal. I must have just got a bad one I guess........1SG

You're right! My bad! I had both sensors break on me at once. The oil pressure sensor os where you said, just above the oil filter.

Different brands of oil filters can produce different oil pressure, depending on how the bypass valve in the filter was calibrated. If the bypass valve in the filter fails to open, the oil pressure will increase until the bypass valve in the engine oil passage opens, usually around 75-80 PSI
