sorry this might sound like a newb question, but i just want to know if takin the oil pan off 97 camaro 3.8L engine is tough or if i need any special tools? and if anyone can give me some directions or a url to replacing the pan?

its not that hard, the only hard part is you have to drop the trans to do this

Sounds like you are new to car repair, and you will have many more questions. Buy a service manual for your car, about $20 from most parts store. It will come handy the next time you want to do work on your car.
