Since they only came in Caddies looks like you are going to have to get everything out of a Caddy and fab some mounts up. Nice motors, buddy had one in his sand car

The 95 olds Aurora came with the smaller 4.0 northstar motor I'm not to sure about the specs on the motor but it was such a fast car and had tons of torque I could rosy the crap out of the tires

If you want a V8 just put in the one that the factory put in. It will save you a tremendous amount of work and headaches. Not to mention that the LT1 can be configured to make much more power than the Caddy engine.

i have moved your thread to the 4th gen v6 section, questions are for the tech sections. please do a intro in the introductins section and let us know the whats, wheres and whos. as for switching a base 4th gen form 6 to 8 or a caddie motor i think your better off staying with the motor you have. if you want a v8 sell this one and pick up a z28. welcome and enjoy the forum

Your first step would be to see if it would even fit. Before the 4th gen Camaro GM made their engine bays and motors standard configuration. You could put in just about any GM motor in a 3rd gen. That ended with the 4th gen. Because of the design Height and widths of the motors are very limited. The K-member frame itself is different V6 to V8. Even if we do not talk about all the electronics involved the hardware would all need custom made, Just the price of a custom hand made headers is enough to make the project no worth it.

Your best bet would be to sell the crate motor and pick up a LS1 car with some damage on it and fix it up.
