New Trans/New speed sensor- Need Help
Hey guys. Last month I bought a 93 3.4V6 Camaro 5spd. It wasn't really taken care of, but it was just nickel dime stuff needing work and TLC. This past week I had to break down and throw a new trans in it. A friend had a spare T5 laying around out of (I believe) a later model Camaro. I didn't realize until after I had it all in and about to go for a drive that that speed sensor is different. The new one uses a hall effect style sensor (2 pin) where the old one used the gear type. I tried pig tailing it up, but it reads mega-off. 65mph on the dash is 6mph actual speed. I have searched online; some recommend finding a DRAC unit from early model Chevrolet Trucks and Vans (90-94-ish). What can I do WITHOUT pulling the trans out. I did it myself (I'm 135lbs) and all I had was a floor jack and some wood and do NOT want to do it again lol Thanks to anyone with info!!
