Default My new(to me) 3.8l ride

Hey guys,
I am new to the forums and a new Camaro owner. I have a 3.8l v6 2000 Camaro with 20,500 miles on it. It was an amazing find, clean, except for some rust spots on the engine chassis. Some lady owned it before me lived at the beach so it comes with the territory. It's all stock. I was trying to think of ideas to start modding it and the usual air intake is what I am thinking so far. I'm am also thinking about a cat-back exhaust, specifically this one.

Anyways, I'd love to hear your ideas and thoughts. Thanks,

Welcome,

You should look around the site some more. There is a "where to get started" sticky an use the search V6 Exhaust has been cover 18,521 time. The flowmaster system is not one of the better liked systems. It sounds pretty raspy over 3500 RPM.

There is no advantage to putting $500 in an air intake to gain only 4-5 hp on your car. Just get a K&N drop in filter for $50 and gain 2-3hp with 1-2 MPG better. I dont know what you will want to do for the exhaust but others here should be able to help you. I am happy with my nice and quiet car. I am not into the raspy sound.

Nice low miles, what'd ya pay?

Add a SLP CAI, SLP high-flow filter, Whisper Lid -- the easy stuff first.
Then Borla cat-back, the advantage is the sound is adjustable with different restrictor plates on the passenger side between the flanges (or you could install an electric cutout there):

Last I checked, Autoanything.com had the best price, watch for their 15% sale, or use a Bing Cashback discount...
