Go to like an autoparts store and they will usually run a code reader to your car for free. Sometimes the little code reader thingy will be able to tell you exactly what is setting off the light.
If it's shaking.... it could be that one of your cylinders is not firing (or whatever it's called) Check all of your ignition stuff (wires, plugs, coil) That's where I would at least start.
And you don't need to know where the ECU is for that... the little connector sucka is located probably by your feet and it plugs right in... Good luck

have you ever taken the wires off the distributor
and if not you could have lost a cylinder
check you spark plugs after starting it and see if its saturated in gas
also pull the plug out and put it back in the boot place it against some metal and have a friend turn the motor over
it needs to have a blue spark
if not get new plugs
