Again Liberty, your suggestions are idiotic and pointless. The OP wants to upgrade the car that they have now, not drop $30K on a brand new car. Its no wonder that no one that belongs to this forum likes you.

And no wonder america is going bankrupt! Because of stupid ideas like that. If you can't pay for it then don't!

Also hp doesn't always make a Huge defferince. You might want to do some suspension mods like a stiffer front sway bar or stiffer springs and adjustable shocks. A great mod is the shock tower brace and the frame to body conector brace. Can't remember the actual name of it. A one price drive shaft and posi aswell make a Huge responsiveness difference. The thongs I would do in order would be:
Shock tower brace
Sway bar
Frame conectors
Posi
One peice drive shaft
Cai, full exhaust ( headers, high flow cat and cat back)
Lower car with stiffer springs and adjustable shocks.
And after all that is done and you still want to do more then a cam, tune and port & pollished throttle body and intake. And more agresive engine work like power additives like nos turbo or supercharger.

That's my 2cents. Doing any of that will change the feel of the car alot. The posi and one peice shaft will seem like you just added alot of hp.

His car already has a 1 piece drive shaft, all 98+V6s do and I am not sure but I think maybe that all the 3.8L cars do. I am not sure on the 96-97 but I know the 98+. 2K is alot and you will need to spend 2 or 3 times that much to really notice any big difference. Handling on the other hand could be greatly improved with 2K. Strut tower brace, sway bars, shocks, rear control arms and panhard bar, just to name a few good places to start.

Hmmm I really wonder if 96- 97 have one peice. I'll have to pop my head under my car this weekend.

My Friend's 96 RS had a one piece, but then again the car was a true RS and that could have made the difference. Not sure tho I dont have any 96-97s to look under.

liberty youre an idiot, to the op, if youre looking for strictly power, or at least a noticeable change, intake, full exhaust, maybe some rear gears, n02 kit, idk 2k isnt alot for performance mods,,, for 2k in parts you could do intake exhaust cam n02,,,, but thats def without install lol

Many times we forget simple maintenance items on a car. Afer that the simple bolt ons like many others have said seem to work well........1SG

96 and 97 have a 2-piece driveshaft. The RS, Z28, and SS have a one-piece.

And that also makes me sad. Guess I'll have to get an aluminum one peice. Oh shucks.
