Mods on a V6 worth it?
So i have a 2001 v6 camaro, and im wondering is it really worth modifying it? Like putting a Cam, headers, air intake, etc.. i would like some advice before i start getting involved in it...
or should i just buy a v8?
Advice please.

People who want a Camaro for performance, buy the V8 model. Those who just want the styling, buy the V6. I would do bolt-ons on the V6, but I personally wouldn't dip into the engine.

Honestly, Ill probably have a v8 in the future, but im thinking about just trying to make my v6 the best it can be, as it is my first car, i just want to make sure i get some good results(for a v6 of course)and not blow a bunch of money for nothing, you know?
Start off with removing the baffles in your intake and pick up some headers from pacesetters and a nice borla cat back exhaust system. Letting that engine breath with increase power. After that get a hand held tuner.
It all depends what makes you happy. Are you going to be happy with a fast and nice-sounding V6, or do you want the performance of a V8 out of a V6?
Speaking for myself only, I've done alot of mods to my V6, and I am happy with the fact it is a fast V6, but it's not as fast as a V8.
So, once you decide what will make you happy and what you really want you'll get the engine you want!

Since your car is likely a daily driver, you will appreciate every mod you do -- every day.
I would start out with handling (shocks, sways, STB) and then easy performance -- air intake improvements and then cat-back. After that's out of the way, do the things that make sense, but when you start getting real expensive ideas in your head -- that's the time to look into a better car, IMHO. Good luck.

Lol. Maybe that's my problem. But I love my car too much to replace it. Almost sold it a few times but just can't let go and now I'm saving cash for next winter to supercharge it.
