Mods to the almighty v6 3.8, anyone add to the list?
i know, and i hope i never own a car without ttops. they were the greatest invention ever made. mines an auto too =p, and auto, and a v6 hahaha but you have to work with what you got, if im going to have an auto v6 its going to be as badass as it gets.
The whisper lid and scoop give you about the same performance as a K&N, actually a slight bit more I would guess.
Start with your CAI. Go to your catback of choice after that. Then headers. Then gears and an aluminum DS.
See if that makes your butt dyno feel a bit better.

You want the car to be "as fast as possible" but you don't want to change the gears cause it will effect MPG. You realize that any thing that generates more HP will use more fuel? At lease while its making that power.
If your car is not meeting the standards for MPG you should fix that befor you start to mod the car. Whatever is killing your mileage might be killing HP also. My 96 gets 30+ MPG on the highway.

well i talked to a mechanic that mods his cars all the time and he said not to its just stupid, he said all it will do is kill my gas mileage and its not the worth all the work, maybe ill do it in the future, but im doing the cam, heads, exhaust, air intake first.

I can get like 19-20 MPG when I drive around town going no faster than 1500 RPM.
