well the K&N air intakes give you a sick sound when it sucks in air, my bro has one on its truck and it sounds awesome. and between a whisper lid and CAI, im going to spend $250 anyway, so dishing out $300 for the K&N if its going to give me better or the same performance and that badass sound im okay with. and no every little bit counts, i want literally as much hp and performace as i can get, idc what little bit you wont notice =p a whole lot little equals one noticable amount.

 

Please don't buy the K&N just because of the sound.

 

oh no NOT JUST, obviously im looking for performance, but im saying if the K&N gives me the same or more performance then the whisper lid/CAI combo, then im okay with spending the extra $50 to buy... but thats besides the point here people im really just looking for what will give me the most performance, K&N has the dyno to prove i have a guarenteed 6 hp in it =p but from what i read with the whisper lid and CAI its supposed to give you quite a bit of help. I want to know which one in the long run will give you more bounce in your step.

 

I've always heard that the SLP was the best choice for the LS1. I'm guessing the same is for the V6. The intakes are pretty similar.

 

I know its hard as heck to find a whisper lid though.. and everyone swears by them haha i just feel like no one actually has the air intake system by K&N? everyone just goes with SLP and theres no real good K&N reviews because no one gets them, they cost to much =p

Thats going to be hard. No one really builds Camaro V6's and tells people about it. Camaro V6 builds in general, are hard to find.

 

haha well im 17 and its my first car, my dad didnt want me to have v8 for my first car and we found a beautiful mint condition v6, so we got it. but my brother gives me **** all the time for owning a v6, so im just going to make it the fastest v6 i possibly can and be proud of that haha and if he gives me crap ill just tell him for a v6 its got nuts.

 

I know what you mean. I get crap from my family for owning an automatic. They think that real sports cars have manual transmissions. I tell them that its still a Z28, it still has a LS1 and its faster than any car that they've ever owned. They still laugh at me, but its cool. Its fast, its loud, its good looking, its got t-tops and most importantly, I love the hell out of it.
