Misfire 01 Camaro V6 3.8l
So i had 2 of the wires mixed up so ya... the MAF code is gone no SES lights. but theres still a little rough and by that i mean almost unnoticeable. l i dont think its a misfire, it only shakes when its past second gear and above 2500rpm but the only reason i notice the shaking is becuase ive driven the car so i know the feel. Any ideas on what i should do next to trouble shoot the roughness?
Good to hear the MAF issue is fixed! Noise and shake in 2nd gear is a different problem. That's driveline or plugs, wires, optispark. I had a similar issue with mine. I changed my optispark, plugs and wires and it runs fine now. My cat was also clogged so I removed it. Do you have any loss of power?
what did you use and do cleaning the maf? if its been running in open loop, which is what happens when maf is unplugged, then your 02 sensors are probly not very happy. be worth taking them out and having a look.
Okay so the misfire is back I got a code now P0305 so cylinder 5 misfire how should I go about this? Can i get a step by step of how to check the coil pack with a multimeter? I wanna test the coil before i pull the injectors.
Swap the coil 5 and for another one, say 1 and 6. (mark them with some masking tape). If you get a misfire at 1 or 6 you know the coil is bad. If you still get a misfire on cylinder 5 then it's the plug, wire or head.
^^^ agree try moving and see if issue follows, testing the coils can be hit and miss, might be a happy coil at the time of testing. then after warming up its not happy.
