RE: which magnaflow is better?
thnx for the advice, but like i said im 19, they told me insurance on a z28 would be as much as a corvette. thats insane. if i do a swap im not telling insurance. i rly thougth about it cuz they had a 98 z28 with 105k on it for 7500 - 7800. but im worried about gas n insurance now. tell you the truth it depends on where im at next year. my main goal is to get an ls1 but i know things may come up. thats life. right now im more worried about getting it running right now. ive seen people with 98s on here that have alot of problems with gauges n such n i wanna fix things before they break. also, is it possible to put z28 gauge cluster in? i rly like this site better than club3g when i had my eclipse, they just flame everyone if its not the norm and they shoot down ideas instead helping.

RE: which magnaflow is better?
You should be able to swap in a Z28 gauge cluster, its the same size, but it goes up another 30 MPH. As for the exhaust situation a 2.5" catback will do fine. The mid pipe, tailpipes, and muffler input and output on a base V6 from 98-02are 2.25". I don't think that an extra .25" for a catback is really worth it. Putting on a dual output muffler with a 2.5" input and outputs would be good enough. The only difference between getting that and a catback are so slight except for when it comes tothe price.

You can put a Z cluster in, yes. I've done it. RPM's will be off, oil pressure will be off, though it still points the same direction as on the V6 gauges. Everything else reads correctly.
