Default MAF sensor testing

Can you test the MAF sensor? Or does this require an expensive oscilloscope? Is it worth while to just replace it with a reman from NAPA? Are the remans decent quality?

There are test you can do and if you get a Chiltons total car care manual there are flow charts that show you how to perform test.

Thanks Madmike, do you know if the flow chart will show values that I can test with a digital mult-meter or will I have to get an osc scope?

Sick thanks for your reply but the SES light momentarily comes on then goes off. I only read the MAF trouble code when I plugged in a reader.
