ok so turned out to be that the problem with my car was the maf sensor... might sound stupid for this one.. but what exactly does this do?? and about how much would it run for one of theses

It meters how much air is coming into the engine. Used in fuel tables.
As far as cost... It's quite a bit for a new sensor.

If it's causing rough engine problems, and it's really the MAF sensor, then you can unplug, and car should run like normal.

Mine ran much rougher with it unplugged, especially at start up and idle. Funny thing is that my MAF actually was and still is bad.
You can always try to clean it before you replace it. Use a piece of cloth with some rubbing alcohol on it and carefully clean the wires from any dirty that accumulated there over the years.

would it be bad to run it without the maf????
luky for me im koo with they guy who owns the shop... so hes gonna get a discount for a new one... comparing it to the autozone prices sounds cheap to me... hes gonna get it for 160 i think...

when mine went bad i unplugged and it ran just as ****ty, no difference, horrible gas mileage.... go to the junk yard and get one off a 2000 or newer camaro,grand prix,firebird or so on..thats what i did works great! and it was cheapier! i paid $000.00 for mine :-D
