I have a 97' 3.8 Camaro and am looking to do an engine swap, but dont really know a whole lot about what needs to be done. I've got another car to drive while the project is underway, so time is not really an issue- however money is. I was considering buying a high milage lt-1 and re-building it, adding performance parts here and there, but I really dont even know where to begin. I was considering reading up on rebuilding the engine and the swap, then attempting to do it by kind of following step by step instructions. I suppose buying a donor car would definitly be the way to go, that way EVERYTHING is right there and you have an example of how it should look right in front of you. Does anybody have any tips or pointers on either rebuilding an lt-1 or making a swithch from a 3.8 to a 5.7?,
