LSD install help!!!!

Default LSD install help!!!!

alright guys so im preforming a limted slip swap on my car for those of you who dont know a 97 3.8. to this point ive removed the front plate from the "pumpkin" allowed the oil to drain removed the four interior main bolts. then removed the one horizontal bolt.... all that done i then was proceeding to pull the axels appart and yank the old diff..... one problem is that the axels decided they didnt like that idea....there not budgeing i removed the brakes as advided by one indivdual but to no avail anybody got idea?

hehe when pulling the axels out its inmportant to remove the pinion shaft hahahah.... anyway now that done but the diffy is not a happy camper he dosent want to come out ive been priing at it with everthing but the kitchen sink ideas?

Remove the pinion shaft? I don't follow you. You got the axles out right? Anywho, the differential is a pita to get out, I bent my crowbar getting it out. Leave the two bearing caps on, with the bolts, but loose. That way when it pops out, it won't come flying out.

Did you remove the two small "C" clips from the end of the axle shafts inside the Diff??? If not that is your problem.

it did turn out to be the C clips so now im farther ahead ive got the new diffy in and all bolted together but i cant get the axels to go into the new diff its driving me insane.....

What car did you get the LSD from?? Make sure it is for a 28 spline axle shaft.

If the LSD isnt from another fourth gen f-body chances are it isnt going to work.

if your not swapping gearing i dont know why you guys dont just buy a v8 rear end, bolt it in and be done with it. you can pick them up for $150 bucks

But then you end up with what I have, an lsd rear with shot clutches. I'm aiming for an eaton locker to fix things right.
