Default lost all oil pressure... and sometimes runs great others like crap

Well i got my newly aquried pos to run and such. But now i've lost all of what little oil pressure it seemed to have before, i was assuming that it was having low oil pressure because of the rod bearing but now its dropped off totally. if i rev it a little the needle barely moves. i'm wondering if its the oil pump. And at times i'll go to start the car and the low oil light is on and will stay on for a few. Anyone on that?

and also sometimes i'll goto start it (i only do every other day for a few mins) and it will not start and when it does it runs like **** untill i can rev it to about 4 grand if i take it to there it will come back down and run fine. Its wierd.

Is it knocking? What makes you think its a rod bearing. If it is knocking, reving the engine is bad news. You can cause more damage than it already has.You can destroy the journal on your crank.
