Your fuel Effiency should go up a little bit, right? I mean, more air will get in your intake box cause K&N 'says' you get, er at least I get 441 CFM compared to 319 CFM with a regular aftermarket paper air filter. Soooo...You get more air and more air means better power gains. I read somewhere that even a CAI doesnt do that much compared to your regular air box. If you want a lotta air then get or make a ram air induction. Pretty simple. Im making one now out of some plastic sheets I bought from Home Depot and I'm soldering them together. I dunno if it will be able to withstand 50+ MPH winds but hey...Ill try it
Just because the air filter passes more air, it really does not mean that the engine can use it. In a stock filters are sized big enough to feed a stock engine all the air it can use, however the air plumbing beteween the air filter and the throttle valve is pretty well restricted, just to make sure when the same engine is used in a Vette, it makes more power. Instaed of changing to a different filter element, get a cold air intake which provides less restrictive plumbing and a denser air charge.
