Just a thought...
So I've been dealing with hard starts since owning my car, which has been about 6 months now. I have done a head gasket and did a complete tune-up. Basically i've done all short of putting a fuel pump in my car. I was thinking that if my pump was going out then it would have already failed correct? It gets drove everyday and I hardly ever run it below 1/4 tank. Initially when I start it it cranks then fires after awhile of cranking. It smells of raw fuel when it starts as well which leads me to believe the pump cant be weak. Suggestions? Testing procedures? Thanks

get a fuel pressure gauge and check the pressure on the rail... sounds like a weak pump to me tho i had one go bad it took about a year to actually fail on me but had the same symptoms

Lack of funds are keeping me from testing the pressure. I may take it into the shop to test shortly

i used a cutoff wheel and just made shallow cuts (theres about 1/4-3/8ths of an inch between the steel and the tank) just dont cut a line sparks and fuel... not good

rent a fuel pressure gauge from autozone (you get all your money back when you bring it back) that way your not paying for that
