just got back! :)
from taking my daughters car for a little drive. Not saying I was speeding or anything but I am very happy with the power the little 3.8 has for it to be pretty much stock everything except being bored 30 over. The fresh engine has almost 3000 miles on it since being rebuilt. Almost 16, she is in bed asleep and will never know it has been moved. She got her permit to drive Monday and has been doing a great job so far.
Congratulations!
I'm in a similar position and hope I can say the same thing in a week or two.
I recently completed the rebuild of the 3.4 in a 94 that I bought for my 17 YO daughter. 30 over, new rings, bearings, cam, lifters, valve job, etc. The subframe and engine are in the car and the engines runs but I don't have the front suspension back together. I had most of those parts blasted and painted with POR 15 (semi gloss black). I painted the rebuilt engine Chevy orange since the black was just too blah for my tastes. Looks pretty good.
My 94 is bright red with a gray interior, t-tops, and seemingly everything you could get on a V6 car.

X2. Indeed a very nice looking car with alot of detail on that motor. She will be happy. Good luck with the driving.
