Any one ever use that interior spray paint . im looking to paint the interior of my 94 black im just wondering does the paint flake or just peel off just looking for some opinions on it

if your looking to paint your interior...TAKE YOUR TIME. ive seen people rush to get it done and only last maybe a year or so before it starts to crack and peel. make sure youve got everything as clean as you can get it. id do maybe two or three layers of paint...then an optional layer of clear if you want it to be shiney or not. if you have leather youll need some dye to get that colored. i wouldnt use paint on leather.

I would say DONT do it. I bought my buddies old Camaro that he painted the interior correctly and it just looks like crap now. It depreciates the value of your car. It looked good at first but after awhile it just looks like ****. Dumbest thing he could have done to the car......you will regret it.

 

finished all the pannels in the trunk today andy they look amazing even if the last for a year its worth it even tho im dreeding the larg pannels tommorrow

 

I painted my Speaker Panels (i have 4 [no BOSE]), *****[4 of these](lights, ac controls), and the panels where the switches for the windows and locks are.

However, my camaro is a completely base model meaning completely manual(windows, locks, 5 speed.)

as far as paint (i have a black and white theme)

i used white interior paint Krylon for plastic bond

just sand down and do light coats.

my friend also did this to his camaro(red theme) and he has power everything including bose. and his is a 95 too.

 

I did my interior (had to paint for lack of funds, really wanted to replace completely). I used the Dupli-color vinyl and fabric spray. It's ok, not the best. It will easily come off if any kind of tape gets on it and you peel it off, but it's easy to patch up. I couldn't tolerate the hideous charcoal grey panels. I can somewhat get away with it because I'm pretty much the only one that's ever in my car, so nothing gets messed up. I have a ton of pics in my ablum and my interior thread.

 

The different between a a pro and an amature interior color change is huge. I have seen interior color changes that where so good you could not tell it was not factory and interior that I flat laughed at. Most of the time the differents is the processed used. You spend all the time in the world preping surface but if you use paint where you should use dye it will not work. There are also certain paints that has a small amount of acid in them the melts the top layer of plastic allow the paint to bind with the top surface. Use these on the wrong parts and you can have a mess. Also many plastic work best to a two step paint process. Spray prep and then color. I would start at a automotive retoration site not the local hardware store.

I've gotten some amazing results with Krylon Fusion for plastic. Been two years since I painted my interior plastic with no issues. I cleaned everything really well and applied the stuff directly on the panels. No primer, no clear.

just give it a day to dry and set.
