damn, thanks. i was looking at pages 26 and 29 with no luck. another unmentioned change between years possibly? could explain the weird and sometimes goofy idle and off throttle characteristics of her engine, and why the idle lope went away after 1k miles, and wouldnt idle lower than 900 rpm. i really wish the last person who owned her car is dead, as is the hack who worked on it before. i kick myself for not checking that out the first time i rebuilt the engine.

haha, good luck is something i have. called the dealership and referenced the pages and part numbers, used the vin, and the part's guy personal experience with his 97 3.8 and still hadn't a clue what i was talking about. he suggested fastenal since i had the bolt size, so i did. went there, and had a pair ordered. they arent the exact length and will require a washer for spacing, but its the best i could find. they offered a 65mm length bolt but only in grade 8.2, and the grade 10.9 was 60 or 70 mm. either way, i got that and a helicoil kit to fix the threads on the lower
