I'm sick of the service engine light...
its a p0302 which is misfire detected on cylinder 2 I've replaced the plug and wire, and ran injector cleaner, and it is still there.
it seems like the first time I drive it for the day it doesn't miss at all but as soon as I turn it off and back on it misfires a little then off and on again and it misfires more and more, and continues until every time i step on the gas it misfires. it shakes really bad in idle after a few start ups. and the firing order is correct.

If you are tired of the check engine light, make sure you don't buy a vehicle that monitors the tire pressure. The check engine light don't hold a candle to that little annoying light. Bad thing is, when I check the tire pressure, all of them read right on the tire gauge.

One of my buddies got new rims on his ranger and didn't take the sensors off the old wheels and left them in the garage and when he parks in the garage the light goes off, then it takes about an hour for the car to register the tire pressure is 'low'
Also thank god its not my car, I only have to live with it for the week.

Your right in that it could be many things. The coil is the most common. If a coil has a burn thru it does not have to effect both sides. It also does not show up on any ohms test because it only fails when hot and under high voltage. Injector problems are less likely to come and go, although it is possible.
If you want to do a test and you do not want to get the spart tester just move the coil that fires #2 to another spot. See if the missfire moves. If not you will need to get that tester or one like it. If #2 is still dropping after the move then you will need a modual. I have seen this before but like the injector it is not common.

Ok, thanks, didn't think about that! It's a town and country minivan, company car so no rims or different tires etc than factory. Heck, I'm not even allowed to change the tire if it is flat. I have to call fleet services!
