OK. I got an 87 camaro with a 2.8 L v6. And i was wondering what the normal idle speed is. Because when my car is a wramed up and in park, its idiling at about 750 rpm. In gear, its idiling under 500 rpm. Is this normal?

 

I guess nobody knows? I also noticed that if im in gear and just sitting there, if i turn my steering wheel, the revs will increase and decrease while im turning the steering wheel

 

500 in gear sounds about right to me both of my trucks idle around 600 to 700. The idle up feature is also normal. there's a controll device, either vacuum or comp controlled that senses load on the motor and kicks the idle up to compensate.
