I want speed!
Hey there I'm new to this site and to cars as I do not know much, but I recently bought a 95 V6 3.4L camaro off a friend. It was his dream car without a V8 till he got his vette, but he tried to make it fast so he has put lots of money into it. I on the other hand do not know where to go from here as it's awesome but I'm getting sick of it and want more speed!
Hes put the following in already:
K&N air filter
Performance Chip
Flowmasters Exhaust
Also I recently crashed it so I might need a whole new rear-end or mayb not. In the rear-end he put in a 373 with posi as well.
But if you were in my situation where would you go from here?
Go get a new rear end with better gears or just try and repair it?
As it is my rear passenger that is ****ed, but I still do not know the verdict if it is just the axle or the whole rear end.
And after I repair that what do you think I can add on to give me some fun?

I'd throw on a new rear end, but with a 4:10 if you wanted to accelerate faster.
As far as performance, chips don't do anything on Camaros, and you'll want headers so your car works better with your exhaust.
After that you'll wanna possibly look at heads and cam upgrades. If you want forced induction or nitrous you should put your money into forged internals.
Overall though, for your most performance, I'd say wait until you can get the V8

don't waste your money, your not gonna get much power out of a 3.4l if you really want more power swap it for a v-8 and work from there like he said chips do absolutely nothing for camaros, you can get a computer from a 97 and get it tuned if you can find a 97 3.4l (if they even made them) and get it tuned by hptuners but. if theres not enough power in the car i would say either sell it and get the v-8 or swap out the engine.
3.4's are decent at best, but the 3.8 is much better in terms of reliability and power. not that i'm putting your car down or anything. i didn't think there was much of a difference in power between the two until i ran one. i beat it by a lot of cars lol.
but yeah, you won't get much power out of a 3.4, unless you have a deep wallet for custom builds that would probably just blow the motor. just enjoy it for what it is and save money for an lt1 or ls1 camaro

Y'all know didly squat about 3.4's. They're actually a little easier to mod than a 3.8, to a certain extent. For one, there's readily available aluminum heads for a 3.4 (came on fwd's). Aluminum heads for a 3.8 are clear up around $2000, and they don't flow very well.
e-mail this guy for info on them, he builds some of the most bad *** 60* engines I've ever seen. Don't speak unless you actually know what you're talking about please.

I have a 3.4 and it goes like hell. It's definitely not the fastest car but my no means is it slow. It's great on gas, got from Port Huron Mi to Sault Ste Marie Mi doing 80mph on less than a tank. I can burn the tires just as good as anyone else, I can make it screech and power around corners just fine. The 160hp is good enough to take it off the line with many cars...especially the kids in the 80's and 90's civics that try to race me. The engine I've found out is restricted to 175kmh though. Made a normally 2 hour trip in just under an hour with contruction (I don't suggest doing that, especially in Ontario) which I will never do again (partly due to speed racing laws in Ontario now).
But just for the record, your 3.4 has enough speed for what it is. Just keep it in shape and you're good.

yeah thats what everyones telling me which is to either get a v8 or just keep er the way she is now cuz my friend who sold me the car has dumped too much money in it and is advising me not to do what he did cuz its pointless, but its just so tempting to cuz i want more power!
