I think this should be plugged in somewhere...HELP!
I just got my car back from the shop after rebuilding the engine. 1995 Camaro V6 3.4L. I saw a loose plug that looks like it should be plugged in to a sensor or something. I tried to look for a socket nearby but could not find a socket missing this plug. Anybody know where this is supposed to go? I have attached pics of he plug and the engine bay location to give you guys an idea. Also, the radiator fan is not turning on, could this be why? TIA.

You would think with that wire sitting out in the open like that that they would have noticed that an wondered themselves. Regardless your best bet is to bring it into them. If you're radiator fan isn't kicking in you're going to overheat in traffic and prematurely age/warp your brand new rebuild. For your own curiosity though That plugin is attached to a wire. Where does the wire go? If it goes into a sensor on the engine then you'll have a better idea of what it's for but bottom line, you just plunked down huge cash to get this thing rebuilt don't risk your investment by trying to fix what they screwed up. I'm guessing they can fix both items in less than an hour.
Thanks,
Tom

got it figured out. it is for the air pump which the 3.4L automatic does not have. the fan wasn't turning on due to a bad engine coolant temp sensor. replaced that and all is well. just wish the fan would turn around 200* instead of about 220*. anybody know if i can get a programmer to to tell the pcm to turn the fan pon at 200*?
