I've brought my 3.4 back to life. Just short of a tune up I thought I was good. I checked my oil after letting it run for 15 mins. To my surprise the oil looked good, but it stunk of gas. So what's up with my maro? If I have to rebuild ill just swap a 3800 in.

Have fun with the 3800 swap... It is just as hard as as swapping in a V8, actually it is exactly the same only with 3/4th of an engine.
As for the gas smelling oil try driving the car a little longer and get some of the possible fuel that may have seeped into the oil from when the car was not running, time to evaporate. Drive it for a few miles like 10-20 or so and then let it cool and see what happens.
