Default Hurst Shifter

I was driving my recenly finished project 96/5 speed when I noticed I do not have 5th gear. Rev is kinda a bear to get into but I can get it but I'll be dang if I can find 5th. Any ideas what I could have done wrong during the install?

I have never driven this car before the hurst shifter was installed or any 3.8/5 speed for that matter. Could it just be tuff to find? If there is no ideas I will re-install my stock shifter. My fear is this is a tranny probelm not a shifter problem.

Any tips on getting the console out? I have a real tuff time getting it around the park brake. I got it last time with out breaking it but I can not imagine I will do that to many more times without breakages.

Again I was looking for an old post and I saw this. I have no idea what happened. I had to fight every shift with my shifter for the first 48 hours. I think there might have been some burr or sharp edges cause it is smooth as can be now and I did nothing to it.

have you bled the clutch fluid lately? could be something blocking the flow and the clutch could not be realeaseing all the way.

I have driven many cars that the clutch would not disengage correctly. This would shift fine first to second,, Then fight to get into 3rd once it was into 3rd back and forth with 3rd and 4th was not problem,, getting back to 2nd was tuff and getting over to 5th was near impossible. Sitting still with the motor off I could not get it over far enough to even try to put it in rev. It was the side to side movment that was the issue. Why it just went away I have no clue. But its pretty darn smooth now.
