How do you beat the 115 redline limit?
115 sounds like the speed limiter on the v6 cars. The rev limiter is around 6200-6500. I've bounced off it a few times by accident. 5500 and 115 mph sounds like a 3rd gear speed limit. The 3.4l cars don't have the power to push any faster going into od. Even the 3.8 have hard times.

I would get the speed limiter removed and just start adding power where you can. If it is a tired 3.4 You may only get to 120-12.
Just word of warning. You really need to be sure the car is in top notch shape and I don't mean it passed a saftey inspection. You really need to go over the car. Something like a loose ball joint or tie rod end can cause a "speed wobble" The speed wobble can cause things to break very quicly. Your chance of surviving a car crash with no cage at 120 MPH is not great. These cars are very easy to drive at high speeds (unlike older ones) but none of the saftey stuff was designed or tested for speeds that high.

Well I did something right. She now hits 115mph in 4th gear at 4400rpms. And if it takes 16 seconds for a quarter mile, id be past 80mph. my 0-60 is 7.2 seconds. and it does not take that long to get to just 80. I dont know why she wasnt hitting 4th gear at 115mph before but its fine now. Looks like I can get new tires and end up removing the speed limiter than. Add some more power and I should be able to get a decently low time on the 1/4 mile.

New your car was 16.6
165 HP at the fly wheel with a 3400lb car
1/4 Mile ET Calculator
That thing seems pretty accurate. It list my car at 15.7 stock and with a 25HP add on at the fly wheel it list my time at 15.17. My Ipod list my 1/4 time at 15.1.

its saying I make 680whp to go 10.42, I can assure you I don't make that much. If we're going off calculators, I've found this to be the closest to accurate
