Help Please.....Hitting Brick Walls
Hi, my name is Will and I've just lucked up and came in to owning a 1998 camaro for free. I've hade the car for almost 4 months now and have seen no real sign of trouble, needless to say the car runs great!!! Heres the problem it is a base model 3.8L v6 not the ls1 motor everyone seems to love so much. I really want to build the motor I've got and get away from doing a swap cause unlike most people I really like high output v6 motors but I cant seem to find and engine performance parts for the 3.8 and when you type in camaro on the web every thing v8 pops up. I really want tru duals, cam, heads, etc everything or anything I can get thats a mod..I have no problem pulling the motor and having it reworked but dont know where to start looking for parts.. Please If anyone knows where to look please help.. Thanks so much..

1 Suggestion would be to pick up a low miles Series III 3800 from a newer FWD car. The bottom ends are a little stronger and the valves are a little bigger and they can be found dirt cheap. If your stock motor is in decent shape keep it so you could swap in and out as needed.
Heads are going to need ported, no one makes an aftermarket heads. I think there are a few guys out there are will sell you GM heads already done. Please make a build thread and let us see what the project as it progresses.

Thank so mush And will be sure to post pics and a Youtube link as the work gets done. Also, I've been told that running a 50 shot of NOS to the stock motor wont hurt the motor or stock trans?? Again knowing nothing about NOS I'm torn. A friend of a friend said if I change my rear end to 411 gears to go along with the cold air and the pipes on the car and installed a 50 shot wet or dry NOS I would Get around doing any mods to the motor????True or False and If false Why?
