What is the rpm showing? Is there a SES light on? Could be transmission or possibly a Universal joint that is bad but just from your description, sounds like something with tranny. Does the tranny fluid smell burnt?

that or it could be a vacuum leak that has the RPMs way up in park and he shifts into gear and it jerks down

I know i need a new vaccum piece that is on top of the motor. THe rpm sit high sometimes as well and i have a very very small tranny fluid leak but the fluid isnt burnt inside the engine. there is also i piece underneath that i was told could be it. Some kind of cv joint i think it is located near the center above the drive train

get your self a dealer service manual for your model and yr and read it. u will learn alot about your car and the basics of the mechanics. the u joint for the drive shaft will vibrate but only when the car is moving.
