i have a 99 camaro with a 3.8 i tried to pull it through the top. i couldnt get the oil pan to clear the subframe. How do i do this.

 

The oil pan is removable...

 

if you gotta lift to pull form the top then you can also pull the body off the engine. What you should do is get the lift and a rope or chain and put it in the engine compartment and drop the engine on a dolly and lift the body off and slide the engine out from undermneath.....or you can just take off the oil pan.

 

could take the trans crossmember out and drop the rear of the trany. did u take the intake manifold off. that would help also.
