Help, I just bought a 1999 3.8 and it is throwing P1120,p1220,p1221 and p1516
It’s throwing p1120,p1220,p1221 and p1516 codes but it idles great and runs good till you give it over half throttle while driving and it goes into limp mode and I have no pedal afterwords but I go unplug the throttle body and plug it back it so far it fixes it. Any ideas what it is?
I would first check all ground straps. I just got a 2001 and it started throwing out codes all over and go into reduced power mode, basically idling. Got under it and the ground strap from under the driverside motor mount to the finder was rotted apart. I replaced it cleared codes and all is better than it was before it started acting up.

How long does it fix it for? You may just be putting the system in open loop. This allows the system to ignore some inputs. I have no idea how to help without you having a scan tool. You need to see what the computer is seeing. Anything else is just throwing parts at it.
To double check the grounds it is a good idea to just run a temporary ground right from the battery to the intake and see if the problem goes away,
FYI Throttle body failure is not uncommon. Its not just camaros but any GM car or truck from that era.
